DESIGN YOUR OWN BLOG

Open a Google account:

1. Go to http://www.google.com/ and click on 'sign in' in the top right corner.
2. Click on 'create an account for free'.
3. Enter your details and create account.
4. Click on your google name in the top right corner.
5. Click on 'account settings'
6. Under my products, click on 'Blogger'.

Design a Blog:

1. On the right-hand side (under 'sign out'), click on 'try the updated blogger interface' (this will only show if you are on the old blogger format.  The old one is blue at the top. If the top is light grey and the rest of the page white, you are already on the new format and you can ignore this step).
2. On the left side, click on 'new blog'
3. Enter a Title and address for your blog. The address is going to be your internet address bar (URL).  So make sure there is no open spaces in it.
4. Choose a template and click on 'create blog'.
5. You will see your new blog on your list. Click on your blog name link.
6. On the left side, click on template.  You can change your template if you are not satisfied with your one.
7. Click on apply to blog.
8. On the left, click on 'Settings', click on 'Basic'.
9. Under privacy,  click 'edit'.  Change both settings to 'no' (don't add your blog to blogger listings and search engines.  You will get lots of spam). Click on 'save changes'.
10. Edit your blog address if you want to change it to something else.
11. The rest under 'settings' can be left until you are more comfortable with your blog design.
12. Click on 'Layout',  here you can 'add gadgets', move them around and delete them.  You can also click on 'template designer' to change your template, background, withdts and layout.  This is also a bit advanced and you can do it when you are more comfortable with your blog.   

Add posts to your blog:

1. Click on 'add post' and give your post a title.
2. You can add some writing in the box and add some pictures.
3. Click on publish/save.

Practice makes perfect.... play around with the design of your blog and posts. This is the only way you will learn how to do it.  You can use it for personal purposes or one day if you have your own business. You are welcome to write some comments if there is instructions that you don't understand.
